Let's start at the very beginning

African Darter - Panasonic DMC FZ5 1/250s F4.0 273mm ISO80
This interest of mine in photography began many years ago with some of the first camera's I owned being a 'Polaroid Land Camera - The Button' and 'Kalimar Focus Free FF-10'. I really knew nothing and camera's were for me, pretty much, point and shoot. When I look at them now, they really look like something out of Noah's Ark and I can understand why I was called a 'happy snapper'!
In 2006 I decided to buy my first digital camera and didn't want to spend a huge amount of money just in case it didn't hold the same appeal it had when I was younger. My purchase ended up being a Panasonic DMC-FZ5. You'd be amazed at the awesome Macro shots it does, but more about that later. I have thoroughly enjoyed using this camera and I'll post some of the photographs I've taken with it. There's a well known American Photographer who only uses this particular camera for his photography - for the life of me I cannot remember his name - but I did look at his website and his photographs are brilliant to say the least.
There I was, in 2006, fumbling like a toddler with the camera settings and trying to find my way. The manual is worn and tattered and stuck together with sellotape because I've referred to it a gazillion times! And still I'm learning! (Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?!!) The photograph of the African Darter above was taken with the Panasonic shortly after I'd purchased it. I simply love how 'amateurish' the photo is and how overexposed! We live and learn!
